BACKGROUND
Columbia Premier Soccer Club (CPSC) is a mission-driven youth soccer organization serving athletes and families throughout Southwest Washington. The Club offers both recreational and competitive programming and is deeply embedded in the local community through partnerships with leagues, facilities, schools, and governing bodies.
As the Club enters a new phase of growth and organizational maturity, CPSC has created the role of General Manager to provide executive leadership across strategy, operations, finance, and community engagement, while strengthening alignment between the Board of Directors, staff, and membership.
SUMMARY
The General Manager/Chief Executive serves as the primary executive leader of Columbia Premier Soccer Club (CPSC), responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational performance of the organization. This new role champions the Club’s mission, vision and core values with the daily execution of soccer programming. In this role, you will ensure the club delivers the highest level of performance to its members in a fiscally responsible and administratively efficient manner, while maintaining strong ties to the Southwest Washington community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- With CPSC core values in mind, work with the Board of Directors, staff and club sponsors to review, buildout and implement a 3–5 year strategic plan based on data and recommendations collected from a comprehensive study in 2025, to achieve the Club vision. The GM/Chief Executive will incorporate specific milestones and performance metrics in collaboration with Board of Directors and staff, while maintaining clear boundaries between board and staff roles.
- Accountable for translating the strategic plan into departmental and individual goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Board and club staff/members.
- Ensure all Club initiatives and operations align with organizational bylaws, mission, and applicable non-profit regulations.
- Establish and maintain appropriate communication between governance and operations.
Operations & Facility Management
- Implement and oversee personnel and financial management systems to ensure accountability and excellence in business operations, including member registration, vendor contracts, and insurance.
- Manage field permits, sublease with Harmony Sports Association (“HSA”), and relationships with HSA, Clark County parks department, local school districts and private facility owners to strengthen and expand club infrastructure.
- Supervise staff on the scheduling of games, practices, and tournaments.
Financial Stewardship
- Develop, manage, and report on the annual operating budget. Oversee accounts receivable (member dues) and accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, including implementing robust financial controls to meet audit requirements.
- Identify and pursue diversified revenue streams, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
- Track the management, replacement, financial planning and fundraising to maintain capital assets, including 4 turf fields.
Staff & Culture Management
- Serve as the leader in creating an organizational culture that is high-performing and teamwork centered, inclusive and non-threatening, where our core values of community, respect, opportunity and fun are recognized and celebrated.
- Oversee all staff. Directly supervise the Technical Director and all administrative staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional environment for full-time staff coaches, volunteers, and members.
- Establish club wide behavioral standards and build psychological safety for staff, members, and volunteers.
- Create staff feedback and performance review systems.
- Ensure compliance with SafeSport, background checks, and coaching certification requirements.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Act as the primary Club spokesperson within the community and at regional and national soccer league meetings
- Oversee digital presence, including the website, social media, and email communications.
- Establish club wide behavioral standards and build psychological safety.
- Drive recruitment and retention efforts to maintain or grow player membership in both recreational and competitive soccer programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in sports management, non-profit administration, or a related leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience working with a nonprofit board and the fundraising and volunteer support responsibilities associated with managing a charitable organization.
- Strong understanding of the youth soccer landscape, including ECNL, GA, USYS, and US Club Soccer environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizations through transition, with the ability to build alignment.
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills—you must be highly experienced at navigating complex and competing positions with parents, staff, board, leagues, and local teams with grace.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with sports management and financial software (e.g., PlayMetrics, Quickbooks).
- Highly adaptable leader comfortable working in a fast-paced, community-facing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & COMPENSATION
- Requires regular evening and weekend duties as required.
- Combination of office-based administrative work and community-based engagements.
- The expected salary range for this position is $110,000–$140,000. Compensation outside this range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications, experience, or specialized expertise.
